The Picasso Museum in Barcelona is hosting this exhibition to commemorate the Picasso Exhibition that took place in January 1936 at Sala Esteva. It represented a very important moment in Picasso's relationship with Catalonia and Spain, and became a cultural event of great magnitude. Artists such as Sabartes and Salvador Dali, the photographer Man Ray, the poet Paul Eluard, the artist Andre Breton and the art critic Christian Zervos collaborated with Picasso in the original exhibition. Thanks to the documentary remains of that exhibition, today the Picasso Museum offers information on how the event came about, so that the public can make their own interpretation. Some great pictures will be shown of that fantastic epoque and Barcelona in 1936.

Sweet-toothed individuals gather in Barcelona's Gracia district for the Festa de Sant Medir. A colorful parade of floats, flags, costumes and horses winds through the streets, and literally tonnes of sweets are thrown from the decorated carriages into the crowds. The parade originated in the 16th century as a pilgrimage in honor of Santo Emeterio, or Sant Medir, the patron saint of broad beans. The festivities come to a glorious end with a firework display in the Jardinets de Gracia.
