Primavera Sound Festival Barcelona 2010

The Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona is already announcing big names for the 2010 edition. Primavera can always be counted on to bring Barcelona music fans top class live acts performing hardcore, grunge, extreme rock, electronic and pop and rock music. There is usually also a massive line-up of renowned DJs.
The next Primavera Sound is from 27 to 29 May 2010, and among the top names already confirmed for are Pavement and the Pixies. The main venue for the Primavera is the Parc Forum venue in Barcelonas Diagonal mar area on the coast of Barcelona to the north of the center. The festival has 6 stages including the Forum Auditorium and there are many fringe events around the city including concerts in underground venues and day time performances in parks and public spaces.

Sonar, the advanced music and multimedia art festival, takes place in Barcelona every year during three days in June. 20th European Athletics Championships Barcelona 2010

The 20th European Athletics Championships will commence on 26 July and run until 1 August, 2010. The competitions will start on 27 July in the Olympic Stadium of Montjuic (Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys) and all of them, except for all road events which will take place downtown Barcelona, will be held in here. More than 1.200 athletes will compete during these days in 24 (men) and 23 (women) disciplines.

The Barcelona Summer Week Music festival 2nd edition will take place on Montjuic by the Anella Olimpica (Olympic Needle) next 04/08 untill 08/08.
Over 250 events and the organisers expect to attract 50.000 party people during the Barcelona Summer Week. Last year ended with a huge 2 day mega party. Its a great new event in Barcelona that started in the summer of 2009 and now returns for the 2nd edition. Basically its one long party based on a programme of 30 night clubs in Barcelona, 100 Djs and 7 beaches. There will be club parties, beach parties, boat parties and much more..

Merce 2010 - Les Festes de la Merce Barcelona 2010

The festivals of Barcelona last several days. The first celebrations take place September 22nd, and the last ones take place during the following weekend. The festivals are dedicated to the patron Saint of Barcelona: Mare de Deu de la Merce. All kind of acts take place during the festivals: classical Theater plays, folklore shows, free rock, pop & electronica concerts.
You can find BAM concert stages in the old town (ciutat vella) on Plaza del Rey, Plaza Real, Av. de la Catedral, Portal de la Pau by the Monument to Columbus, on the Rambla del Raval, on Parc Forum in the Diagonal Mar part of Barcelona. Ciutadella Park will be also be a centre of music with many jazz, blues, swing, gypsy and brass concerts in the big marquee. In the photo you can see one of the most traditional sports in Catalonia: The Castellers.
