Booking Reservation

In order to confirm your booking, ChicRoom Barcelona must receive the online prepayment. The prepayment of the booking is processed through a secured payment platform and all major credit cards are accepted. The required prepayment amount depends on: the selected apartment, the number of guests and the length of your stay. This amount is clearly indicated in the reservation process on our website www.chicroombarcelona.com. Please note that the booking is not confirmed until the prepayment is received; you will then receive the booking confirmation email. Your reservation is valid and confirmed upon receipt of the prepayment made online and accepted. A confirmation email is sent directly including all the detailed information for your arrival in Barcelona.

Payment and deposits

The remaining balance, along with the damage deposit, needs to be paid in cash upon arrival, unless otherwise stated. You will be welcomed by the owner or their representative directly at the address of the apartment that you are staying in. Some properties accept credit card payment but please be aware that there may be an additional cost for using this payment method. Any other payment method accepted besides cash is specified in the booking confirmation sent by email. Please refer to your booking confirmation to find out what payment method is accepted upon your arrival. There are some exceptions whereby the payment can be agreed by bank transfer only for bookings made at least 7 days prior to arrival, this guarantees that the payment has been made correctly. Any related cost to a bank transfer (more commonly an international bank transfer) will be paid by the client. The security deposit amount is defined according to the type of accommodation and guarantees the care of the accommodation premises and of the furniture and fittings therein. The accommodation owner or property representative has the right to refuse admittance to clients who do not pay the required security deposit. In the event that the accommodation is left in the same condition as it was on the day of arrival, after the owner or representative has inspected the accommodation the security deposit is refunded upon your departure. ChicRoom Barcelona is not responsible for any dispute arising from a security deposit refund.

City Tax

There is an overnight accommodation tax that is applied by the Catalan Government. As of April 1st 2017 the fee is 2,48€ per person per night for a maximum of 7 nights. This tax is not included in the rental price of the apartment and your check-in agent will ask for this payment. Anyone under the age of 17 is exempt. Cancellation or change

We perfectly understand that sometimes you may have to cancel a booking. Just make sure to contact us as soon as possible so that we can inform the apartment owner and make all the necessary arrangements. We also offer the possibility to rebook. And enjoy the same apartment but on different dates. If you cancel more than 14 days before the arrival date you will immediately receive a ChicRoom voucher worth 100% of the amount you paid when you booked. If you cancel less than 14 days before the arrival date we will send you a voucher worth 50% of the online payment. We will then give the other 50% to the apartment owner to compensate him/her for losing the booking at such a short notice. The ChicRoom voucher can be used anytime, unless another agreement was made. A voucher can be used for any booking in any city or can even be given to a friend. A voucher can be redeemed only when making the online payment to confirm a booking. If the voucher value is less than the online payment, it can be redeemed along with an additional payment. If the voucher value is more than the online payment, you will receive a new voucher for the difference. In this case, if the new voucher's value is more than or equal to 50% of the original, the original expiration date will apply; otherwise, the original expiration date will be prolonged by one year and applied to the new voucher. Please note that a voucher cannot be used for the remaining balance paid upon arrival. If you would like to make a change to your booking, please contact us by phone or email. Depending on the change, we can either modify the existing booking for you or cancel and rebook it. If you have decided to stay longer, or you have friends who want to join you, then that´s no problem. Assuming there is availability, we will simply modify your existing booking and calculate how much extra you need to pay. Once the extra prepayment is paid you will receive a confirmation of booking modification. If you want to reduce the length of your stay or the number of guests, you will receive a ChicRoom voucher for the difference in the online payment and pay a reduced balance upon arrival. In the event that your new booking total is less than 50% of the original, this will be considered a cancellation subject to the cancellation policy above. Likewise, if you want to change your apartment, your booking needs to be cancelled and rebooked.

Check-in/Check-out

Check-in time is after 14h00 and check-out time is before 11h00.

We will attempt to accommodate all necessary arrival times. In order to do so, we ask that you contact your accommodation manager as soon as possible with your flight or transport information. We ask that you call them from the airport, after collecting your luggage but before making your way to the apartment. This way we will know whether you have arrived on time or not, we understand that often planes, trains, and automobiles can be delayed or even rescheduled. If, for any reason, your arrival is earlier, please let us know in advance and we will try out best to accommodate you. Please, note: for arrivals later than 20h00 there is an extra-charge for late check-in of 30€, after 22h00 is 40€ and after 00h00 late check-in fee is 50€.

Cleaning

The apartment will be cleaned prior to the arrival of each client. When leaving, the client is obliged to leave the apartment in a reasonable condition.

Number and identity of the guests

The client will inform ChicRoom Barcelona of the number of guests included within the booking. Unless otherwise agreed by ChicRoomBarcelona, only the number of persons indicated by the client when booking shall be authorised to use the apartment. The number of persons who may use the apartment may not exceed the number of persons allocated for each apartment, except for children under three years of age. Pets are only allowed where permission has specifically been granted.

Behaviour

The client that signs the check in form will be liable for the correct and decent behaviour of all the persons accompanying him/her. Should that person or any of the people accompanying him/her not behave in a suitable and responsible way, the owner or representative will be entitled to request the client and the persons accompanying him/her to leave the apartment. Please see the ChicRoom Barcelona terms and conditions where the conditions for loud music, disturbances, and parties are very clear: ALL ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN. Also note that by booking with ChicRoom Barcelona you have already accepted our terms and conditions and will therefore be expected to abide by these rules. You may also be expected to sign these rules upon check-in on your arrival day. QUIET TIME IS EVERY DAY FROM 22.00 PM to 10.00 AM. We appreciate your collaboration in this matter and hope you understand that these rules are necessary as these apartments are all situated in residential buildings and nightime and daily life of the locals must be respected by visitors. BE AWARE, that in case the client does not have a good beheavour and the turistic licence of the apartment booked is revoque or cancel by the athorities, the client will loose any security deposit left with the booking and will not be refunded by any cicumstance and kept as compensation.

Amendments to your booking

In the rare case that an apartment you have booked becomes unavailable, due to damage e.g. a water leak or anything else that can happen to an apartment, ChicRoom will try to find a similar apartment for you or even upgrade you. Of course, if you do not like any of the alternatives we will immediately refund the full online payment.

Liabilities

ChicRoom provides an online booking service that helps you book apartments. The service of ChicRoom is legally limited to displaying apartments and communication regarding bookings until booking confirmation is sent by email. The liability of ChicRoom is limited to the amount paid to secure the booking. Neither ChicRoom nor the owner of the apartment can be made liable for any direct or indirect damages that may occur during your stay at the accommodation, including (but not limited to) injury to person or possessions, and loss due to fire, theft or criminal behaviour. Likewise, ChicRoom are not responsible for potential delays, accidents, loss, and change of schedule or rates that are related to our suppliers´ services. ChicRoom and its employees are not responsible for errors and omissions, misrepresentation by third parties, disputes between the customer and a third party, and the content of external links on its website. Finally, ChicRoom is not part of the rental agreement as mediates in the name of the owner or property manager, any complaint should be given directly to the owner or manager of the accommodation during the guest stay. However, complaints can be made via ChicRoom and we will then get in touch with the owner.

ChicRoom aims to display on its website high quality content and information based on information supplied by the apartment owner. While ChicRoom does its best to verify and update the information as seen on the website, we cannot be held responsible for errors, changes or omissions that may occur. ChicRoom reserves the right to update information published on the site at any time including (but not limited to) rates, descriptions and photographs. Customer reviews are an important part of the content on our website and are the property of ChicRoom. However, the customer who submitted the review can have it removed by contacting us at any time. ChicRoom reserves the right to update its terms and conditions at any time when required. It is the responsibility of parties using the ChicRoom service to review these terms and conditions in case of any changes before making a booking. By agreeing to use the ChicRoom service it is understood that all parties accept any changes and that all parties comply with these changes.
